WE WILL SAVE OUR CROSS!!
Let's begin with why we need to save our CROSS. John Baca is a
Medal of Honor winner. He risked his life to save his buddies in
Vietnam. Here is what this HERO told San Diego City Council on March
8th, 2005 just before five members of the city council voted to destroy
the CROSS on Mt. Soledad in La Jolla, California:

2005 PROSPECTUS
Introduction
Dear Friend:
City Church Ministries and its principle ministry have been developed to encourage unity among Spiritual Leaders, especially Pastors, within the localities throughout the San Diego Region. Our purpose is to effectively assist leaders in the Church of this Region to restore and equip their members for fruitful living and service. Further, we are providing a means of God's people to work together for the extension His Kingdom throughout San Diego and beyond. On behalf of the leadership team of City Church Ministries, I am grateful for your interest in this service to the Body of Christ.
This prospectus provides a presentation of God's Vision and Purpose for such a ministry. This has been developed through the prayers of local leaders over many years. The hope is the openness and direct approach to God's vision, through this letter, will be refreshingly clear.
Please look this letter over…give a careful and prayerful evaluation. If you sense the leading of the Lord to join in an area of partnership, are in need of any of the networks resources or have additional questions not answered here, please contact. I trust for the Lord's continued blessing on your life, family and ministry.
OUR NETWORK AND RESOURCES
The outpouring of the Spirit of God as promised in Joel 2:29, has touched the nations since the Day of Pentecost, including North America. Nations are anxiously awaiting and fervently praying for the continual outpouring that will "heal the brokenhearted and set at liberty the captives." (Isaiah 61:1)
Over the past generation, the Lord has raised up leaders who have sacrificially gone to cities and nations, being used powerfully to open roads for the Gospel, and seeing literally hundreds of thousands of souls brought into the Kingdom of God. The directive of City Church Ministries is to be an channel to unite the Lord's church beginning in the San Diego Region and to be used by the Lord for continued Kingdom connections. With this mandate, we have developed proven ministry resources such as pastor prayer clusters, regional gatherings of congregations, prayer rooms made up of volunteers that represent over 45 congregations across San Diego County, who have been trained to pray for all manor of difficulties, a School of Ministry associated with Vision International College and University and a stewardship ministry which trains stewardship teams within the local church. Today the ministry is reaching beyond San Diego to other cities and even nations. In this prospectus you will read about the various expressions of the vision God has given through the leadership of City Church Ministries. We hope you will "catch the Vision" of this ministry and become a part of effecting God's purposes in the San Diego Region and beyond.
2004
We are experiencing a most dynamic and challenging year. In 1998, George Runyan, founder and director of CCM, left pastoring a congregation to give himself full time to this vision. In 2004 CCM celebrated it's sixth year as a city ministry. In celebrating this wonderful achievement we will revisit the vision of CCM and the progress that has been made towards accomplishing the ambitious assignment given by the Lord Jesus Christ, a mission to unify the congregations, train leaders for the church of the locality both in San Diego and throughout the world and by bringing restoration to His Church and to the broken lives of people.
Networking and Available Resources of City Church Ministries
City Church Ministries, Inc. provides quality ministry services in four primary
areas.
1. San Diego City Church Network
San Diego City Church Network began in 1984 when a message was directed by the Lord to bring pastors together for prayer and relationship building. There were two biblical foundations the Lord gave. First was to make the Kingdom of God the primary focus rather than church, and fellowship and working together was to be based on covenant relationship within the locality of the local churches.
By 1987, a network of pastors within San Diego began to form out of a shared prayer time each week. Soon afterward this network of pastors decided to nominate a leader to lead them into greater unity and cooperation. George Runyan was selected. George Runyan oversees the group still today and also mentors at request.
God has blessed San Diego with some of the finest leaders in the body of Christ. Today there are many pastor prayer clusters throughout the San Diego Region. Many of these pastors are not only pastoring their own congregations, but affecting the body of Christ in the states and the nations. Ministry expansion has occurred through many methods, including books, preaching and teaching both at home and abroad, and through City Church sponsored conferences and seminars. These relationships are creating love and respect which is tearing down the enemies strongholds.
This organic life, a most refreshing process, has grown in warmth and purpose. Our growth has caused us to move towards the development of a relational structure. This structure which has been steady in developing and is now coming to reality. Relationship takes time to develop and we must be committed to God's eternal purpose for His people.
2. San Diego Healing Rooms
Our second dynamic ministry activity is the San Diego Healing Rooms. SDCCM connected with the Spokane Healing Rooms, which is a restoration of the Healing Room Ministry begun by John G. Lake in the early part of the Twentieth Century.
By February 2000 SDCCM opened the San Diego Healing Rooms in the City Church Ministries offices. To date the Healing Rooms have grown to include the participation of 45 churches represented by people who have been trained to work in the rooms. The Healing Rooms are open 3 days a week and are serving nearly 100 people per week. The Healing Room Ministry has grown, as we have recently planted new rooms in other cities and nations. Theses rooms are directed by Dan and Sarah Shepler who together are raising up leaders and trainers both at home and abroad. For more information on the Healing Rooms please see the web site at www.sandiegohealingrooms.com.
3. School of Ministry
Our San Diego School of Ministry (SDSOM) is a regional school for equipping the saints for the work of ministry. Its foundation is built upon Paul's model found in Acts 19 (school of one Tyrannus). Our mission is to train and develop leaders within the region in support of local churches, and releasing men and women into their God ordained gifting and calling. The SDSOM is a resource center of Vision International College and University (VICU). VICU is a worldwide educational ministry, presently working in over 125 nations, offering Associate through Doctoral degrees in Theology (with several emphases), Christian Counseling, Christian Education and International Relations (Missions). The school is Seminar based with faculty made up of anointed pastors/teachers from the locality. For more information on the educational leg of City Church Ministries please visit on the web at www.sdsom.org or www.vision.edu.
4. Vision Resourcing (VR) - Stewardship Training
CCM's steward ministry resource is Vision Resourcing, Inc., directed by Dick Edic. Dick has served the body of Christ for many years in the field of Stewardship Training. He is now directing his focus toward strengthening local churches by training stewardship teams within a congregation and establishing basic discipleship in areas of time, talent and finances. The implementation of the ministry of VR within the local congregation will increase the overall giving of that congregation and further increase financial blessing in the lives of God's people. For more information on VR, you can find them on the web at www.visionresourcing.com.
Circles of Authority
Within networking relationships various leaders will function with different levels of authority. Men might be part of a denominational system or a network of churches located outside the geographical area. At the same time, they find that the Spirit of God has joined them with men of like mind in their own geographical area to accomplish God's purposes. We will not escape these circles of authority, but this need not present a problem when relationships are secure and their nature is understood. This is the answer to exclusivity or developing another denominational system.
Finance
Sowing into City Church Ministries is sowing into the San Diego Christian Community. Some pastors tithe into this ministry and some of the network churches give from their mission funds. While others have given free will offerings as the Lord directs along with donations from gracious people who carry with us a similar vision for this region. No ministry can survive without partners standing with them financially.
Conclusion and Invitation
Every believer has been called to service in the ministry of the Lord. Some are called to go, some to stay, all are called to pray. We need prayer, and trust you will become a part of the team of men and women who pray daily for City Church Ministries.
Many ministries are asking for financial support for their projects. Thus far, CCM has "paid its own way," with very limited donations. However, we cannot continue to grow and fulfill the mandate of the Lord without more seed. Your gifts will be an answer to prayer for the expansion of this ministry to encourage and help develop greater cooperation among pastors and churches throughout San Diego and other cities and nations.
The mandate of the Lord is to go to all the world and make disciples of the nations. In order to disciple the nations, we must reach cities by reaching the key leaders, helping them to see their need for one another. It will take the whole body of Christ working together to impact a locality and eventually a nation.
Paul's parting words of encouragement to the Elders (pastors) of Ephesus was to "take heed to the flock which the Holy Spirit had made you overseers", noting "first to themselves" and then the flock. It is only through cooperation among the elders in any given locality, that "The Church" will become truly effective. With the help of networked ministries and many partners, we are doing our part to see the Kingdom of God manifested in our generation.
I urge you join in seeing the Kingdom of God expanded in our locality and around the world.
Respectfully in Christ, George Runyan
